So I went into Ulta with a friend the other week and obviously I couldn’t resist buying a little something for myself. (Duh) So this will just be a mini haul and first impressions of these products.
The first one was the NYX Cream Highlight & Contour Palette. I was excited about this palette at first. The colors are good but I just can’t seem to get a hold on how to use it. The product itself just does not seem creamy enough to get on the skin and blend nicely, you seem to have to use a lot of force which then rubs your other face makeup off. I will definitely keep trying with this product but I haven’t had a great experience so far.
The next product is the Orly Matte Top Coat. I am in love with this whole matte nails trend and you guys saw a picture of that in one of my last posts. This top coat works great and have only chip in one place and its been a week since I did my nails. The only thing I would have to say is that the matte finish kind of buffs out and looks shinier the longer you where it. So probably every five days or so if you want to keep that really matte look you would probably have to put another coat of the matte top coat on.
The next couple of things I picked up were both E.L.F. powders. The first one is the Perfect Finish HD Powder. I have been loving this powder so far I got the transparent one and it really help keep my face matte. It also comes with a sponge in the bottom of the compact and a great mirror.
The next e.l.f. powder I got is the under eye setting powder. This is a very small container of loose powder I am still figuring this out a little to. I have heard this product is good to bake your under eyes with but I have not tried that yet. The only down side to this product is that it will really cling to dry flaky skin. So if you know you are going to be using this product make sure your skin is really exfoliated and moisturized.

Nice haul! Try using a beauty sponge (like a beauty blender) to blend out the cream Nyx palette! It might work better for you that way 🙂

That Elf powder seems like a great dupe for one of the MAC powders! Great post 😊
